With Surfing Lessons in Pacific Beach at Pacific Surf School, you’ll easily learn how to surf on the world-famous beach in Pacific Beach, San Diego, California. Our professional instructors will teach you how to read surf conditions, safety tips, and most importantly surf etiquette. Pacific Surf School offers lessons for all skill levels and ages, fun is Guaranteed! You’ll be standing on a board in no time.
We also offer lessons in other locations amongst SoCal such as: Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, Huntington Beach, Pismo Beach, Santa Monica & La Jolla. Lessons are offered 7 days a week, year round, with four different sessions per day. Our easy booking system is a breeze to book your lessons online. If you or a family member isn’t keen on surfing, no worries, we got you. We offer rentals, surf camps, skate camps and boogie board camps just for the kids.

Our premiere location in Pacific Beach is close to all main attractions such as restaurants, shopping as well as cafes. You can even take in the sights by bike or walking the 3-mile oceanfront boardwalk. A fan favorite, is the Crystal Pier and Belmont Park. If you are feeling hungry here in Pacific Beach don’t worry, there are more options than you can count: some local favorites are the famous fish tacos from Oscars, local handmade pizza from Boardwalk Pizza and even craft beer from Amplified Beer Garden.

The atmosphere here is informal but yet, full of energy and fun things to do. Basically, it is the perfect scenario if you are asking yourself where to learn to surf in San Diego. PB, short for Pacific Beach, is a neighborhood full of everything. Great beaches, all flavors restaurants, a lot of shops and definitely, a lot of people strolling around.
To explore, biking is one of the best and pleasant ways to see the neighborhood. Bike rental shops are all over the place. Garnet Avenue is where all the fun stuff is. Tons of food, drinks, clothes and surf shops on every block. Two very recommended spots to kill some cravings after your private surf lessons are the Pacific Beach Fish Shop – for a fresh caught of the day any style you want and less than half mile away you can make your own custom ice cream sandwich at Baked Bear.

Booking surf lessons with Pacific Surf School is hassle-free and fully online. You can select the type and location of your surf lesson right on our website then make a booking. We offer surf lessons at several principal locations including Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, and La Jolla.
Our surf lesson lasts for 90 minutes, during which we will cover everything you need to know to start surfing. Our comprehensive lesson plan includes paddling techniques, understanding basic surfing equipment, ocean safety, surf etiquette, passing the break, popping up on a surfboard, and even riding your own wave! What’s more, all necessary equipment is included in your lesson, such as a surfboard, wetsuit, UV protection, a rash guard, and leash.
We understand people’s different needs and thus offer flexible options for surf lessons. You can sign up for a private surf lesson for one person if you prefer solitary learning. Alternatively, you can enjoy the camaraderie of learning in a group by joining our semi-private surf lessons for 2-4 people or group surf lessons for 5-6 people.
For your surf lesson, we recommend wearing a swimsuit under the provided wetsuit. You may also want to consider biodegradable sunscreen to protect your skin during the lesson. We will provide a UV protection rash guard for extra protection. Do not forget your thirst for adventure and a positive attitude!
